I´ve made your DCC DIY Function Decoder pcb´s using your files. I can see that there is an difference between Paco´s scheme and this pcb. Here pin 1 of ULN2003A goes to pin 7, not pin 6 like Paco´s scheme, why? Thanks a lot from Barcelona.

Because I had the possibility to ‘fix’ the order of the functions. FA and FB are reversed and that is all. It also gave me room to add an optional current limiter.

Just like to show my appreciation for helping me save the Olive 4HD I acquired. It was close to being skipped as it wasn’t working correctly. With the info & updates on your site I eventually got my head round the processes and bingo it works. Thanks & keep up the good work.

Thanks, glad it helped!

I'd like to use the IT-tool on a macbook.. if I would have an msi installer script (containing os/ windows library dependencies) I probably could run it via CrossOver..

I try to stay away from Macbooks 🙂 Did you try it via a bottle like: https://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/mactutorial/run_only I have no idea how the mechanisme works on a Mac. IT-Tool uses .net framework 4.7, all other libraries are included. Because I wanted to avoid installation (not every one has admin rights), I made it standalone. So sorry, no MSI installer…

Hi there. Do you have a recovery image for the Olive Symphony or Hifidelio equivalent version? I don't see one listed in your downloads.
Reply by: Gert-jan
See https://www.lydo.nl/download/?dir=Olive/Symphony/ But never tested, I do not know if it is enough or if stuff is missing or working. So everything at your own risk. But if it works or adjustments are required, please let me know...

I already checked AVS Forum; I wondered if you guys know where I could find the recovery files (USB/CB) to resuscitate my Olive 4. It won't start on its own, and I can't find the files to load a USB and try to fix it. Would you guys know where I can find them? Any information would be very much appreciated.

Hi Gert-Jan I ready your story about DCC functional decoder and interesting in it. Therefor, kind I would ask some point where is not clear for me.. I'm familiar with analog electronic, such as audio amplifier, but would like to know how to programming the MicroChip PIC12F629, please? Can be done this with only write some CV's in or have to program it with firmware writer pickit3 and XC8 compiler, first? And if so, where is the firmware file for the DCC functional decoder. Thank to help me for the entry into the digital world.... with compliments Juerg

i am from Vietnam. My 4HD finally stopped working one month ago, at least I noticed it wasn't turning on. it gets stuck on the white screen and says "system is starting up, please wait" So naturally I thought it was the HD, so today I changed it, and restarted with the down and center buttons pressed. It does not prompt me to insert the USB disk, it remains with the white screen. Could it be that the mother board isn't working? thanks

Could be, but please ask within the AV forum

Succes! mvg Gertjan

I'm building the BoosteR-CDE from the gerber files in the download directory. I had some boards made by Seeed Fusion. There seems to be a reversal in the circuit board of pin 2 (output) and pin 3 (input) on IC3 the LM350 adjustable voltage regulator. Regards Jim
Reply by: Gert-jan
The Booster-CDE is not yet tested. The LM350 pinout 2 and 3 are indeed wrongly reversed. Also the LM350 should not be connected to the same heatsink as the driver. A separate post will be made about this schematic, as soon as I have the time...
