SSH to Olive

SSH

If you don’t know what SSH is and how to use it, it is best not to even start reading…

Ok, then.. SSH is a method to access the internals of the Olive (or any other linux machine). Via a program like Putty or WinSCP, the Olive can be connected to a Windows PC. Files can be copied, set, etc. So if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it! Or at least don’t blame me if anything goes wrong!

On the AVS Forum, there are some very knowledgeable people. And one of them figured out how to access the Olive via SSH:

  1. Turn the Olive On.
  1. Select a radio station so that the screen is on all the time. Otherwise the unit falls asleep after a while.
  1. Via an external webbrowser: http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8163/builtDhtmlx.php (use the correct IP)
Login with username=”olive” and psw=”e4v1i5l9o”, if correct, “command run successfully” is shown
  1. Now you can use SSH with username=”root” and psw=”tj270442”
